Who am I?

Leigh Taylor Mickelson, based in Ossining, NY, is an artist and independent consultant with over 25 years of experience in nonprofit arts management and program development. From 2006–2019, she led Clay Art Center in Port Chester, NY, through a significant period of growth, serving the last six years as Executive Director. Previously, she was Exhibitions Director at Baltimore Clayworks for nine years. She holds an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology’s School for American Crafts and served as Exhibitions Director on the board of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (2013–2018).

Throughout her career, Mickelson has curated dozens of exhibitions across the U.S. and helped transform two grassroots art centers into nationally recognized institutions with broad community impact. In 2019, she launched LTM Arts Consulting, LLC, working with artists, nonprofits, and businesses nationwide to build capacity, plan strategically, and achieve sustainable growth. She is also the founder of the Westchester Craft Crawl, an annual outdoor studio tour showcasing regional craft artists and drawing thousands of visitors.
